The food was excellent we really enjoyed it. BUT The reason I am giving it a 3 stars is because of the service not by a waiter/waitress but by another employee. I ordered a mojito and the drink did not taste good. It had no flavor, when I mentioned it to the server he took my drink and then walked back with it and asked what was wrong with it. I told him that it didn't taste like anything. Then the bartender or whoever she was walks back with the drink and says she poured two shots in it herself. I told her it just tasted plain. She then continued to say there was nothing wrong with it and it was fine. At that point I felt irritated so I told her I would keep it because I didn't feel like arguing with her. My friend was not having it, so she asked her politely if she could just make me something else. She then says if I bring you another drink you cant return it. The attitude was unnecessary, I just dont feel I should pay for a drink that literally taste like water.

It’s always tough trying to make a call when you’re craving sushi but live in the desert! This place was recommended to me simply by the bartender, Pookie’s, experience alone. We walked in and sat at the bar so we could be sure we’d be served by her, and what a pleasant visit it was! Super talkative and fun conversation, while not being overbearing and still allowing us to enjoy our food. Started with some sake bombs of course and moved onto the staple Spicy Tuna roll that I have to order at every sushi restaurant I go to (if you can’t do spicy tuna well, then I’m not sure what you’re doing making any other sushi). Probably one of the best rolls I’ve had out here in Arizona. All of the other rolls were delicious, as well as the stuffed jalapeños. Can’t wait to be back in the west valley and try Tomo again!

This place was awesome the food was fantastic and the service outstanding. My buddy and I killed quite a bit of what we ordered including saimin, sushi, gyoza, and a katsu cutlet that was so good it made me miss home. You also have to try the Lychee flavored sake if you're able and old enough. It's definitely worth the trip from Phoenix.

The pricing for sushi is fair! The rolls range between $10-$14

Yeah they are lacking in the service department but overall it's good japanese, not superior japanese but then you would be spending a lot more money. I still enjoyed the experience
